World peace has been guaranteed and financed mainly by the United States. Prosperity is created by free markets, by enabled people working as
much or as little as they wish, to keep a maximum of their hard-earned gains. Prosperity does not bloom from socialism.
The United Nations has outlived its purpose. It has become moribund, senile. One hundred eighty-nine countries, 189 different cultures are not able to produce a harmonious tone.
The Congress of the United States should vote overwhelmingly not only to not pay our 25 percent share of the U.N. budget, not only to withdraw our
ambassador. It should vote to void our membership in the United Nations. Why should we offer American citizens' tax dollars to finance the U.N.'s attempt to install a socialist world government with a world court, a one-world legal system and, soon, one-world taxes.
The real face of the U.N. has become visible during the past two years. This huge socialist body wants to force U.S. citizens to stop living under
the rights of our Constitution. The Second Amendment is to be smoothly eliminated. Our court and legal system, inclusive of the Supreme Court, is to be superseded by an International Criminal Court. Global tax-enforcement plans are evidenced by the European Union's tax strategy. A single
tax system and one method of enforcement are envisioned for all countries. Higher taxes are to guarantee socialist governance and
expenditures. We know how extensive these are.
Let us look at the facts. Last month the U.S. was removed from the Human Rights Commission by China, Cuba and Uganda. France and Germany
did nothing to prevent this travesty. Since last year, the U.N.'s International Criminal Court has been permitted to start with work on a much
larger scale at the International Court at The Hague, instead of trying criminals in the countries concerned. This month, the Second amendment of the U.S. Constitution has been singled out as an example of an obstacle to one-world control. For the techniques applied to raise taxes, one needs
only to look at what is currently being implemented in the European Union.
Yes, a forum for discussions is important. There exist already many outlets for complaints and methods for improvement. The media have become
nearly as influential as state governments and even the U.N. itself. Regional, smaller groupings are becoming efficient and much less costly to
organize than the approximately $10 billion annual budget of the U.N. Geographic regions represent real market forces, and each can develop its
own center for discussion and arbitration.
Unfortunately, the statutes of the U.N. do not seem to permit us to cancel the lease on its New York location. Were it possible, we should
charge the U.N. a very high rent to be permitted to conduct its socialist-dominated policies on American soil. We represent today, together with a
handful of other countries like the United Kingdom, Switzerland and perhaps Italy and Mexico, the strong remaining democratic counterweight to the new socialism attempting to flood the world.
