Olivier Knox, the incoming president of the White House Correspondents' Association, said he wants next year's annual dinner to be "boring," the Washington Examiner is reporting.
Knox, who covers the White House for SiriusXM radio, will take over the organization in July and said discussions for next year's dinner will be a higher priority, according to the Examiner.
Comedian Michelle Wolf has come under heavy criticism for her routine at Saturday's dinner, which included attacks on members of the Trump administration. Some in the audience slammed her routine as offensive, The New York Times reported.
And President Donald Trump blasted the dinner, saying it "was a total disaster and embarrassment to our great country."
Knox told the Examiner: "I’d always planned to have a lot of conversations with the (association) members about a range of issues when I’m president," he said. "This (Wolf's performance) emphasizes the need for doing that. I’ve said for a long time my aspirations for the dinner is to have it be boring."
