President Donald Trump responded to criticism on his controversial car ride outside of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center by saying he can't win either way.

Trump tweeted Monday, "It is reported that the Media is upset because I got into a secure vehicle to say thank you to the many fans and supporters who were standing outside of the hospital for many hours, and even days, to pay their respect to their President. If I didn't do it, Media would say RUDE!!!"

Trump caught heat from some members of the media after his brief ride in his armored SUV, which had two Secret Service agents inside, to wave to his supporters outside the medical facility. He was accused of putting the agents at risk of catching COVID-19 by having them inside the hermetically sealed vehicle.
