The Trump administration will not approve requests from states to place lifetime limits on Medicaid coverage.

"We've indicated we would not approve lifetime limits, and we've made that pretty clear to states," Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma said Tuesday at a Washington Post event that focused on healthcare, The Hill reported.

Earlier in May, the administration rejected Kansas' request for putting lifetime limits on beneficiaries.

Arizona, Utah, and Wisconsin have also requested the limits.

The Kansas proposal would have limited Medicaid coverage to three years. Utah and Arizona are looking for a maximum of five years of being eligible for Medicaid.
