The morning after telling America that the Republican plan to repeal and replace Obamacare is "in the final stages," President Donald Trump insisted that it is "moving fast" despite the Democrats' delay in confirming his health secretary.
His statement came in a tweet posted to the social media platform at 5:13 a.m. ET:
In a long and often contentious news conference Thursday, the president said the plan would be submitted "sometime in early March, mid-March."
Separately Thursday, House Speaker Paul Ryan told reporters that House Republicans would introduce legislation to repeal and replace Obama's program after a 10-day recess that begins on Friday.
"After the House returns following the Presidents Day break, we intend to introduce legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare," Ryan said.
Presidents Day is on Monday and the House returns on Feb. 27.
