Donald Trump posted a story on his
Twitter feed supporting his intimation that President Barack Obama has ulterior motives for his handling of radical Islamic extremism.
The
Breitbart News story charges Hillary Clinton received "a classified intelligence report stating that the Obama administration was actively supporting al-Qaida in Iraq, the terrorist group that became the Islamic State."
According to Breitbart, a 2012 intelligence information report obtained by the conservative government watchdog Judicial Watch noted "the West, Gulf countries and Turkey" supported opposition fighters, which included members of al-Qaida, seeking to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad.
The article charges that since the administration created a Syrian rebel training program, Obama is guilty of backing the terror group.
Trump shared the article with the caption:
The media storm erupted after Trump went on
"Fox & Friends" Monday and declared: "We're led by a man who is very, very — look. We're led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he has got something else in mind. And the 'something else in mind,' people cannot believe it. They cannot believe that President Obama is acting the way he acts, and can't even mention the words: radical Islamic terrorism. There is something going on, it is inconceivable. There is something going on."
Later Monday, Trump yanked The Washington Post's press credentials for his campaign events after it published a story titled, "Donald Trump suggests President Obama was involved with Orlando shooting."
