President Donald Trump is urging his supporters to stop Joe Biden from destroying the Supreme Court.
Trump made his comments in a 2:40 a.m. tweet on Friday.
He wrote: “Biden will destroy the United States Supreme Court. Don’t let this happen!”
Trump, suggesting the Supreme Court will ultimately decide the election, also tweeted: “If Sleepy Joe Biden is actually elected President, the 4 Justices (plus1) that helped make such a ridiculous win possible would be relegated to sitting on not only a heavily PACKED COURT, but probably a REVOLVING COURT as well. At least the many new Justices will be Radical Left!”
Mediaite noted the president’s comments are an indication he expects to take the results of Tuesday’s election to the courts and explains the rush to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the high court.
Biden has said he would set up a bipartisan commission to look at reforms to the U.S. court system. His comments were sparked by Democrats’ calls to expand the number of seats on the Supreme Court.
“What I will do is I’ll put together a national commission of bipartisan commission of, scholars, constitutional scholars, Democrats, Republicans, liberal/conservative,” Biden said. “And I will — ask them to over 180 days come back to me with recommendations as to how to reform the court system because it’s getting out of whack — the way in which it’s being handled.”
