President Donald Trump ripped the "fake news media" as "almost treasonous" in its reportage of his denuclearization agreements with North Korea, saying he is seen as a "world hero in Japan," as the U.K.'s Independent reported.

"It's a shame that the fake news covers it the way they do," President Trump told the father of White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Mike Huckabee in an exclusive TBN interview this weekend. "It's honestly, really, almost treasonous you wanna know the truth."

President Trump rejected the oft-repeated mainstream media refrain he received nothing in the deal and merely "met" with dictator Kim Jong Un.

"If you listen to the mainstream media, it's almost like I lost a negotiation . . . to hear the mainstream media, that was the thing that most angered me," President Trump told Mike Huckabee.

". . . Look at all the things we've had: There's been no missiles fired; there's been no rockets fired. Japan thinks I'm like a world hero over there."

In addition to successful diplomacy in lieu of the oft-rebuked saber rattling between the leaders, President Trump also pointed to the diplomatic successes of returned hostages and remains of fallen U.S. soldiers.

And, in what the media reports as a negative strike against the agreements, the ending of joint U.S. and South Korea military exercises he calls "war games" were an added unreported benefit of cost savings to Americans.

"War games cost a fortune," said President Trump, who reminds he had been against them since he took office, so giving them up was really no concession for the U.S. at all, despite mainstream media claims. "No. 1 it is very provocative. No. 2 who wants to spend this kind of money?"

"In Asia – they know better than anybody else – in all of Asia, they are thrilled."
