Estimates show the Trump administration will reduce refugee admissions by 77 percent, blowing away its goal of 60 percent, the Washington Examiner reports.
The Obama-era high mark of 110,000 refugees is expected to be slashed to 25,000 per year, the Examiner reports. The goal of President Donald Trump's administration had been at 45,000 at the beginning of 2018.
"I personally think it will come in at half that. I think it will come in at 25,000 or so," the Examiner quoted Don Barnett, a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies. "It's not going to come anywhere near 45,000."
The Obama administration allowed on average 75,000 refugees admission every year.
