President Donald Trump’s Tulsa rally, dubbed the “Great American Comeback,” will include musical acts and camera crews to record the event, reports Axios.
One million people have signed up to attend and ardent Trump supporters are already lining up outside the BOK Center, which can hold around 20,000 people.
Trump campaign organizers are also leasing a jet to fly in surrogates the night before the event, and at least a dozen Republican House members plan to attend the Oklahoma rally this Saturday.
Marc Lotter, the Trump campaign’s director of strategic communications, encouraged those in “high risk categories” to watch the rally on television.
“I personally would encourage anyone who might find themselves to be in one of the high risk categories and encourage them not to come. Watch it on television, protect yourself, protect your family if someone in your direct family has those kinds of high risk factors,” Lotter told The Guardian.
Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale last week said rallygoers would undergo temperature checks and receive face masks and hand sanitizer before entering the venue.
Trump’s rally was supposed to take place on Juneteenth, Friday, but was pushed back to Saturday following controversy over the date – a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S.
