Thousands of people already started to line up in Wildwood, New Jersey on Tuesday morning in anticipation of President Donald Trump’s rally later that night, NJ. Com reported.
Only approximately 7,500 people are expected to be allowed inside the convention center for the event. Organizers claim that 100,000 people have requested the free tickets, although that number could not be independently verified.
Those who are not able to enter the building for the rally will be able to view it on large screens that have been set up across the street and in the parking lot.
The first person waiting in line was Duke Reale, who said he had been sleeping in the parking lot since Sunday.
“We’re here to support our president and we’re tired of everyone bashing on him and his family,” Reale told nj.com. “He’s a good man and he’s doing great things for our country. From Wall Street to Main Street this country is doing great.”
There will also be a counter-Trump rally held on Tuesday night a few blocks away, according to WABC-TV.
The president’s rally is being held to held to endorse Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s re-election bid for Congress.
Van Drew switched from the Democratic Party to the GOP last month and has and pledged support for Trump.
