President Donald Trump on Tuesday touted a report that said the U.S. was on track to be the world's largest oil producer.

The U.S. is likely to overtake Russia to become the world's largest producer of oil by 2023, the International Energy Agency said Monday.

"The U.S. is set to put its stamp on global oil markets for the next five years," said IEA executive director Fatih Birol.
