President Donald Trump on Saturday tweeted a quote from a prominent Southern Baptist pastor praising Trump’s use of social media.
Trump posted the support from Pastor Robert Jeffress as Trump’s defense team made its case in the Senate against two impeachment charges against him.
“I like President Trump’s Tweets (Social Media), I like everything about him...and this Ukraine stuff, the trial, the impeachment, this isn’t about Ukraine. Donald Trump has committed the two unpardonable sins in the eyes of the Democrats. He beat Hillary Clinton in 2016,” Trump quoted Pastor Robert Jeffress as telling Fox News’ “Lou Dobbs Tonight” on Friday.
“Secondly, he is fulfilling every promise he made, and that is making his opponents apoplectic. They’re trying to get him out of office, and they’re not going to succeed,” the Jeffress quote continued.
Trump concluded his tweet with a “Thank you Pastor.”
Trump made history on Friday, becoming the first president to address the March for Life demonstrations in person. In his speech, the president said "Unborn children have never had a stronger defender in the White House.”
"What the president is doing it's certainly the right thing to do morally, he talked today about unborn children, reflecting the majesty of God,” Jeffress told Dobbs.
