President Donald Trump is expected to ask for 10,000 more Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and more immigration judges during a speech Friday.
Trump's speech will take place in Long Island, N.Y. and will focus on his administration's efforts to crack down on illegal immigration, violent crimes committed by illegal aliens, and the violent MS-13 gang.
The Hill cites a senior official within the administration as saying Trump will request thousands more ICE officers on the street, a "substantial amount" of additional immigration judges on the bench, and the passage of legislation related to illegal immigration.
The official told The Hill, "If you are a gang member you are a priority for removal. Full stop. [The directive is] "politically incorrect, but law enforcement-wise, very correct."
The website also reports that Trump will ask for the border wall he promised in his campaign for president to be constructed to help stop the flow of illegal immigration.
