President Donald Trump early Monday promised "Fair Trade, plus, with China" is coming despite lack of action by Democrats under his predecessor in the White House, Barack Obama.
Trump's remarks, in a Monday morning series of tweets, also took a swipe at Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer of New York, before noting that the two have "long agreed" on the issue.
Trump's remarks come the morning after U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the trade war between the world's largest economies was "on hold."
Trump followed up soon after with examples of improvements on trade with China, including the nation's purchase of "massive amounts" of farm and agricultural products.
