Despite Republican front-runner Donald Trump's landslide victory on Tuesday night, the real estate mogul still needs to win Indiana and is already spending more than $900,000 on TV and radio ads, as well as increasing his in-state operation to 40 people, Politico reports.

The sudden increase in operatives, money, and attention is a clear indication of the state's importance in the Republican primary fight.

And knowing its importance, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz — in an effort to halt the real estate moguls momentum — has not only ramped up his campaign in the state, but has also cut a deal with John Kasich to "clear the way in Indiana" for a two-man contest.

"Indiana is clearly key," said Saul Anuzis, a senior Cruz adviser focused on the delegate war. "It's a swing-state in this process."

According to Politico, the state has nine congressional districts that will award three delegates to the winner of each, along with 30 delegate to the statewide winner. With these rules in place, Politico notes that the statewide winner will likely acquire at least 45 of the 57
delegates.

As Trump is boosting his resources in the state, the Texas senator is hoping for repeat of Wisconsin and on Tuesday told Indianapolis radio host Tony Katz, "We have decided to go all in on the state of Indiana."

In the most recent Indiana public polls Trump has consistently topped Cruz, but Politico notes the surveys were conducted before the Cruz-Kasich alliance was formed in order to deny Trump a win.
