President Donald Trump’s campaign has released a new ad comparing Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden to a “zombie” that aired in the week before Halloween.
The ad, “How To Spot A Zombie: Joe Biden Edition,” aired during episodes of the zombie TV shows “Fear the Walking Dead” and “The Walking Dead: World Beyond,” and feature 1980’s-style computer graphics and music with instructions.
“Here’s how you can spot a zombie,” the ad says. “Look for someone with a corpse-like appearance, exhibits aggressive behavior, craves human flesh, and utters incoherent moans and groans.”
The video then shows several unflattering clips of Biden before concluding by saying, “With your help, we can prevent the zombie uprising.”
Longtime Republican strategist Susan Del Percio, a senior adviser to the Lincoln Project, told MSNBC’s “The Week” on Sunday that the Trump campaign’s advertising push won’t work to counter Biden.
“You can have few dollars and maximize them or have a lot of dollars and blow it,” she said. “That’s what the Trump campaign did — they had a lot of dollars, blew it early on, they didn’t have a spending strategy.”
Del Percio added, “That’s part of the problem, when they throw these things up online without having a thought process behind it they can’t, what we call in the business, burn a message. That’s what the lack of funds right now the Trump campaign has is really hurting Trump. Not that he has a message.
She said, “There’s not enough time or money for the Donald trump campaign to be successful and burning another message and getting out to the public. So they can try zombie whatever they want, but it turns out they’re going to be among the Walking Dead.”
