President Donald Trump thanked Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull for "telling the truth" after news reports claimed the two leaders had a contentious phone call, which ended when Trump hung up on him.
Trump's comments came in a Friday morning tweet.
Politico noted some news reports said the men had clashed over the phone and that the president told Turnbull that their conversation was "the worst call by far" of those he has had with other world leaders.
Turnbull disputed some of the reports, according to Politico. In a radio interview in Australia he said Trump did not hang up with him and the call ended "courteously."
He did not give any other details of their conversation.
