President Donald Trump's approval rating is sinking again, in part because of the lurid sex scandals dogging him, according to a new Quinnipiac University National Poll released Wednesday.

The independent poll, which surveyed 1,249 America voters from Feb. 16-19, found:

  • Trump has a negative 37 to 58 percent approval rating, compared to a 40 to 55 percent rating on Feb. 7.
  • 56 to 18 percent believe Trump has not been loyal to his wife Melania throughout his marriage.
  • 66 to 30 percent, including 58-37 percent among men, believe Trump does not respect women as much as he respects men.
  • 57 to 40 percent say they do not like Trump's policies and say 61 to 30 percent do not like him as a person.
  • 56 to 36 percent believe Trump acts more like an autocrat than a typical American president.

Tim Malloy, the poll's assistant director, said the bump Trump got following his State of the Union speech has dissipated, in part, because he is seen as "disrespectful to women and disloyal to his wife, and pursued by the porn star and the Playboy playmate scandals."

Those scandals involve claims that porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal had sex romps with a pre-presidential Trump that were covered up.

The Quinnipiac poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.4 percentage points.
