Dr. Ben Carson would prefer to help President-elect Donald Trump from the outside, but is willing to take a job in his administration, if needed.
"We're discussing these things," Carson told Fox News' Sean Hannity when asked if he has been offered a job such as Health and Human Services secretary or surgeon general.
"I personally feel that you can do a lot from outside," Carson said. "But if that were the only way that it could be done, you know, obviously I'm going to do what needs to be done to assist this administration."
Carson, a retired pediatric neurosurgeon who criticized the Affordable Care Act at a prayer breakfast attended by President Barack Obama, endorsed Trump after his own failed run for the GOP presidential nomination.
