The job as White House press secretary has already proven to be a bruising one for newly appointed Stephanie Grisham, who was reportedly battered and "bruised" in a scuffle with North Korean guards, according to reports.

CNN's Jim Acosta, a frequent Trump administration antagonist, tweeted sources called it "all out brawl":

"New WH Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham got into a scuffle with the North Koreans to move members of the WH press pool into position to cover Trump and Kim, I'm told. Grisham was a bit bruised. Source called it 'an all out brawl.'"

North Korean guards tried to restrict access from the press pool to a Freedom House room where President Donald Trump was meeting with North Korea's Kim Jong Un on the southern side of the DMZ, according to The Guardian.

The secret service intervened and White House press secretary Grisham was roughed up in the scuffle as she was trying to clear a path for the press pool to cover the meeting.

CNN's Allie Malloy responded to Acosta via Twitter:

"Grisham was seen on camera pushing back North Koreans who were blocking US press. Shouting 'Go! Go!' as she created a path for press to join the Trump-Kim meeting."

Bloomberg's Jennifer Jacobs praised Grisham for taking "body blows" for clearing the path for the press, tweeting:

"To add to madcap day at DMZ, the North Korean security was a little overzealous, at times trying to block US reporters' view.

"New WH press secretary Stephanie Grisham threw herself into it to make sure the US TV camera got into House of Freedom, and it came to body blows."

This was not the first time a Trump administration White House official got into a dustup with foreign guards. Former White House chief of staff Gen. John Kelly scuffled with Chinese officials last year over the "nuclear football," a brief case that must be carried with the president at all times.
