Sen. Marco Rubio warned Thursday it would be a mistake for President Donald Trump to axe special counsel Robert Mueller amid his probe into the ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.
The Florida Republican was asked to weigh in on Trump's remarks to The New York Times that Mueller would be crossing the line if he looked int the president or his family's business deals, The Hill reported.
Rubio offered high praise for the former FBI director, calling him "a highly credible individual who will do a good job," a transcript of his comments shows, The Hill reported.
"It would be a mistake to fire Bob Mueller," he asserted, The Hill reported.
Bloomberg reported Thursday that Mueller is expanding his investigation to include business transactions of Trump and also his campaign associates.
