Catherine Templeton, who is challenging Gov. Henry McMaster in the South Carolina Republican primary race, has a campaign cash advantage, The State newspaper reports.
According to figures filed with the state's ethics commission, Templeton has $1,052,762.53 in cash available as of Monday, while McMaster has $769,101.24.
Despite that advantage, McMaster still raised more money in total, according to The State.
Three other GOP candidates — Lt. Gov. Kevin Bryant, former Lt. Gov. Yancey McGill and businessman John Warren — have yet to file their pre-election reports.
McMaster, who was previously lieutenant governor, succeeded Gov. Nikki Haley, who resigned last year to become U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Templeton served as The Palmetto State's Secretary of Labor and director of Health and Environmental Control.
