Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., said Sunday the legal process has to “play out” to restore trust in the election process.

In an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” the House Minority Whip said “there’s a lot of concern out there.”

“Let the legal process play out… if you want to restore trust,” he urged. “That’s why you have to let this play out.”

Scalise noted “there’s been a lot of contesting” the election said because “people are frustrated with the process.”

“The seeds of distrust have got to be resolved,” he said. “Let’s have a chain of custody… let’s make sure everybody has confidence… people are very frustrated.”

According to Scalise, the Supreme Court of the United States didn’t reject the Texas lawsuit against key battleground states.

“Nobody wants any votes thrown out,” he insisted, adding “the Supreme Court didn’t want to be anywhere near this… they do not want to get involved in disputes between branches of the government.”

Scalise also said accusations that Hunter Biden is the subject of a federal tax investigation are “very serious,” and that the next administration must be held accountable.

“I’m sure whoever [Joe Biden] puts up for attorney general will be heavily scrutinized by the United States Senate,” Scalise said.
