President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani said Monday that former national security adviser John Bolton is “either a liar or a back-stabber,” when asked about the claims made in his upcoming book.
In a leaked draft of his book, a memoir about his time in the Trump administration that was obtained by The New York Times, Bolton claims that Trump told him that the hold on aid to Ukraine was tied to the country investigating former Vice President Joe Biden.
“He went around my back to the secretary of state and complained,” Giuliani said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” referring to Bolton. “I don’t know what John’s up to. He’s either a liar or a backstabber.”
Giuliani said that he felt betrayed by his “friend,” Bolton.
"I’m very angry at John because John says I was a hand grenade,” Giuliani said. “At no time, during the entire period this was going on did John Bolton, who I’ve known for ten years and consider a friend, come up to me and say Rudy I’m concerned about what you’re doing, I’m worried about what you’re doing. Never.”
