McMorris Rodgers Blasts Defense of Abortion for Down Syndrome Babies

Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers blasted as "offensive" a recent column in The Washington Post defending abortions for babies diagnosed with Down syndrome.

McMorris, R-Wash., a dogged advocate for the disabled, also has a son with Down syndrome.

McMorris Rodgers was reacting to a column written by the Post's Ruth Marcus last week decrying a push that would bar women from terminating pregnancies if the fetus has been determined to have Down syndrome.

McMorris Rodgers wasn't having it. The congresswoman has long been a champion for the disability community.
