The Republican National Committee is spending tens of millions of dollars to court voters on digital platforms just weeks before Election Day.
The New York Times reported that the RNC has allocated $60 million for the effort, which will reach out to voters via text messages, social media, email, and other digital platforms.
"We can target you every step of the way," RNC chief of staff Richard Walters told the Times. "We know when you requested the ballot, and we know to continue following up with you until your ballot has been returned, and until we can see it has been returned."
Walters added that despite President Donald Trump's insistence that voting by mail can lead to fraud and cannot be trusted, the RNC is still urging people who are choosing to vote that way to return their ballots before the deadline.
"Where it is effective, we're absolutely pushing it, regardless of what the political narrative is," he said.
Almost 4 million Americans have already voted in the election, it was reported this week.
