Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., on Monday declared that the "Trump agenda is here to stay" and urged the GOP to concentrate on "exposing the far-left agenda" of the Democrats.
In an interview on Newsmax TV's "John Bachman Now," Reschenthaler dismissed concerns the GOP is fractured in the wake of former President Donald Trump's impeachment acquittal — at which seven senators voted for conviction and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., was critical of him.
"The Trump agenda is here to stay," Reschenthaler said, calling the GOP "the party of the Trump platform."
"His imprint is here to stay for the next 10, 20 years," the lawmaker said, calling the former president's agenda "a great platform."
"We had one of the hottest economies in the United States," he noted, and "it's something we can all get behind."
"If Trump runs in 2024, he's going to win," the lawmaker added.
"We're the big tent party, the party of ideas," Reschenthaler said, dismissing arguments within the party.
"You're going to have disagreements, but that is ultimately a good thing for the Republican Party and for the American people to have a party of ideas," he said.
"What we have to do is we have to focus on exposing the far-left socialist agenda of Joe Biden, the other radicals. The more time we spend attacking each other the less time we have showing the American people, explaining to the American people that we're heading down the path toward socialism, and we've got to stop that."
According to Reschenthaler, the Democrats' "coalition is incredibly fractured" and "beholden to their far left," even as the Democrats' impeachment effort opened "Pandora's box."
"To paraphrase Sen. [Lindsey] Graham, [R-S.C.], we've lowered the bar for impeachment so low that it's now merely a partisan exercise," Reschenthaler said. "No due process, no investigations, no witnesses — that should scare everybody."
"This does not bode well for the future of America, what we saw in the second impeachment of President Trump," he insisted. "It's 'cancel culture' on steroids and if they can go after President Trump ... if they went after [Rep.] Marjorie Taylor Greene [R-Ga.] last week, what's to stop the mob from going after you?"
"The mob will come for us all," he warned.
