Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke said Thursday that "there is a way to pursue justice for everyone in America" — including reparations for African Americans and rewriting the nation's immigration laws to guarantee equity in the United States.
"Whether it is for the African-American descendants of slave or the immigrants here in this country right now, we have proposals to make sure we pursue reparations as well as legalizing America and rewriting our immigration laws in the image of the crowd here tonight."
O'Rourke was speaking at the Presidential Town Hall sponsored by Newsmax and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
