Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said Friday he believes his party will hold its control of the Senate in next week's election, but he didn't want to put an exact number on his prediction.

"I think certainly 51 or more," Priebus told Fox News' "America's Newsroom" program.
"I feel good the number will be more. As of today, we will hold the Senate, absolutely."

Meanwhile, the polls are tightening between GOP nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, and Priebus sounded an optimistic note for the battleground states of Nevada, Florida, and North Carolina, three states that are vital to a general election win.

Voting numbers are up for Republicans in Nevada, while they're off for Democrats in Florida and North Carolina from figures posted four years ago, Priebus said.

Democrats believe they can take Wisconsin, Illinois, and Pennsylvania, reports Politico. Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, and New Hampshire are still considered as toss-ups, while the party believes it can win Wisconsin and Illinois and believes it can take Pennsylvania.

The party chairman also sounded out against the mounting number of claims being made, saying couldn't be trusted with the basic task of the secretary of State: protecting secretas.

In addition, said Priebus, potentially classified materials are being found on disgraced congressman Anthony Weiner's laptop.
