Special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into 2016 election meddling is going to circle back to Randy Credico, a reported longtime associate of former campaign adviser Roger Stone, The Daily Beast (TDB) reported.
Credico has reportedly already met with Mueller's investigators "a number of times," and will be brought back after Thanksgiving, Credico's attorney Marty Stolar told the TDB.
Stone, a self-proclaimed political trickster, has been of interest to the special counsel over his knowledge of dirt on Hillary Clinton's campaign. Digging into questions about Stone's ties to WikiLeaks' hacked emails and its founder Julian Assange is unlikely to conclude soon, according to the report.
Credico is a comedian and political activist with alleged ties to Stone for decades. Stone had reportedly told congressional investigators Credico was a go-between with Assange — which Credico had denied to TDB.
Stone reportedly shared text messages that indicated Credico passed him WikiLeaks information, another claim Credico has denied.
Justice Department charges are reportedly being prepared against Assange, according to court filings.
