Sen. Rand Paul teased Thursday on Twitter that he would be making a "yuge" endorsement on Friday in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

Here are the posts from the Kentucky senator, who dropped out of the sweepstakes early last month:

Paul's "YUGE" reference is most likely to front-runner Donald Trump, who has repeatedly described his campaign in such terms.

The son of former Rep. Rand Paul, the senator began his quest for the nomination in April and suspended it after finishing fifth in the Iowa caucuses — the first contest of the 2016 season — with only 4.5 percent of the vote.

His campaign sought to capture the anti-establishment mood among GOP voters, a hallmark of efforts by both Trump and rival Ted Cruz.

Paul's father won 21.5 percent of the Iowa vote in the 2012 presidential race.

The younger Paul, 53, has since focused on his Senate re-election campaign. Bluegrass State voters will go to the polls on the race in November.

Paul was initially elected, along with Cruz, in the tea party wave of 2010. Both have often clashed with Republican leaders.

Cruz reportedly has actively tried to seek Paul's endorsement, but Politico reports three sources close to the Kentucky senator said last month that he had spurned his Texas colleague — saying that he had not planned to immediately endorse anyone.
