Save My Care has launched a TV ad urging Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, to oppose the final version of the Republican tax bill, the Washington Examiner reports.
The group, a strong defender of Obamacare, noted Collins voted in favor of the initial Senate tax bill. That bill contained a provision that would repeal the Obamacare individual mandate penalties.
Collins supported the bill in exchange for a guarantee that legislation will come to the floor to help fund Obamacare, the Examiner reported.
"Sen. Susan Collins voted 'yes' on the Republican tax bill — ripping away healthcare from 13 million people costing older adults in Maine as much as $1,750 more and threatening Medicare," the narrator in the ad said.
"Call Sen. Collins. Tell her to vote 'no' on any final tax bill that repeals our healthcare."
And the group's website noted: "The GOP's tax plan is particularly bad for Maine." And it said Collins "is getting played."
