A new poll shows Donald Trump is leading Hillary Clinton in Virginia, marking a dramatic shift in the presidential race in its final week.
The Hampton University Center for Public Policy survey results:
- 44 percent of likely Virginia voters support Trump.
- 41 percent of likely Virginia voters support Clinton.
The poll was conducted Oct. 26-30, which means last Friday's news the FBI is taking another look at Clinton's email case was partially included in the polling.
Other key findings:
- 46 percent said they are very confident in the voting process and system in Virginia.
- 47 percent said working to improve the economy and creating jobs should be the main priority of the next president.
- 19 percent said healthcare should be the main priority of the next president.
The same poll taken a month ago found Clinton to have a 12-point lead in Virginia, which voted for President Barack Obama in the past two elections. Before that, the state voted for the Republican presidential candidate just once, in 1964, from 1952-2004.
