Republican voters are feeling more confident than Democrats about their party's future, according to a Huffington Post/YouGov poll released Tuesday.

Some 35 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters feel enthusiastic about their party's outlook, while only 13 percent of Democrats feel the same.

Breaking down the results by party affiliation:

Republicans:

  • Satisfied: 71 percent.
  • Dissatisfied: 16 percent.
  • Upset: 6 percent.

Democrats:

  • Satisfied: 51 percent.
  • Dissatisfied: 25 percent.
  • Upset: 13 percent.

Before the presidential election, The Huffington Post reported Democrats were far more satisfied than Republicans with their party's outlook, with 71 percent of Democrats satisfied and 43 percent of Republicans satisfied.

After the election, satisfaction among voters in general decreased, according to a Gallup poll released in November. Going into the election, 37 percent of voters were satisfied in the direction the country was taking. Afterward, that result fell to 27 percent.
