According to a
Fox News Latino poll, 90 percent of Hispanics favor a path to give undocumented immigrants a path to citizenship.
"That's something that is really amazing," Brett Wilkes, national executive director of the League of United Latin American Citizens told Fox New Latino. "It's really pushing back against the rhetoric. It shows remarkable agreement in the Latino community that the solution is not deporting millions of people."
The May poll surveyed 866 registered Latino voters nationwide. Experts believe Donald Trump's proposed immigration policies have engendered a great deal of sympathy within the Hispanic community.
The number of Latinos who say immigration is the most important issue to them doubled to 12 percent from 2012, according to Fox News Latino.
"It's not just about immigration" for Latinos, Wilkes said. "It's about bigotry and racism and the message that Latinos don't belong here."
