Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden announced an economic plan to buy American in order to siphon votes on an agenda that has been President Donald Trump's from the start, according to White House trade and manufacturing adviser Peter Navarro.
"Poll-driven, plagiarist, buy-China, Joe Biden – I was astonished by that, giving Biden's history," Navarro told Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures," pointing to Biden's failed 1988 presidential campaign and "trifecta of plagiarism" from "speeches and has to withdraw from the race in shame and embarrassment."
"And now he's just blatantly ripping off the president's Buy American agenda, which goes back to the president going down the escalator with the beautiful Melania; it started back then."
Navarro, a renowned China economic hawk, noted Trump signed "at least seven Buy American orders."
"That's seven more than Biden signed or Obama signed in their term," he added.
Navarro said Biden's political opportunism to adopt this switch in his election campaign "really bad judgment."
"Whoever wrote that speech and put that in the puppet's head there, I think they might be looking for a new job soon," Navarro told host Maria Bartiromo.
Outside of Biden's China trade policy reversal, most of his economic plan is counter to Trump's economic agenda and creating jobs, he added.
"Everything that Biden wants to do and is running on is directly opposite to the direction opposite of growing the economy," Navarro said.
"Joe Biden is the candidate of the Chinese Community Party: Trump buy American; Biden buy China," he concluded.
