President Donald Trump “went rogue” last week with his decisions on health care and the Iran nuclear deal, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said Sunday.
In an interview on ABC News’ “This Week,” the California lawmaker said, however, she believes Democrats and Republicans can find “common ground.”
“The week of Friday the 13th is the week that President Trump went rogue”on decisions on the Affordable Care Act and the Iran nuclear agreement.
“And as he continues his war on the middle class, with his unfair tax plans. So, so many things that are not based on evidence and that's problematic.”
Pelosi said there’s a bipartisan path forward on healthcare in particular, referring to efforts by Ohio GOP Gov. John Kasich and Colorado’s Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper and in the Senate by Sens. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn.
Trump’s executive order on healthcare is “hurting the American people,” she insisted.
"This is not about policy or politics,” she said. “It's about the American people. And… if he wanted to do that, why would he hurt people and say, ‘now that I've taken the American people hostage, let's talk.’ “
