House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday used a photo President Donald Trump tweeted earlier in the evening of her standing up and pointing her finger at the president during a contentious meeting on Syria as her new Twitter profile background.
Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s chief of staff, posted a screengrab of her new cover photo with the words: “Thanks for the new cover photo @realDonaldTrump!”
The meeting on Trump’s Syria policy ended with top Democrats walking out after Trump had a “meltdown,” per Pelosi.
“What we witnessed on the part of the president was a meltdown,” Pelosi told reporters, saying Trump appeared visibly “shaken up” over a House vote that denounced the U.S. troop withdrawal.
“We couldn’t continue in the meeting because he was just not relating to the reality of it,” she said.
Trump later posted the photo of Pelosi, calling it evidence she was the one who had the meltdown.
“Nervous Nancy’s unhinged meltdown!” he tweeted.
“Nancy Pelosi needs help fast! There is either something wrong with her “upstairs,” or she just plain doesn’t like our great Country. She had a total meltdown in the White House today. It was very sad to watch. Pray for her, she is a very sick person!”
