House Speaker Paul Ryan's PAC will transfer $715,000 to Republican members of the House running for re-election in 2018, Axios reports.
The money will be split between 143 House members, each receiving $5,000, according to an unnamed aide. Ryan set a record last year after raising $44 million, more than any other House Speaker in a non-election year.
Despite Ryan's success in raising money, Democrats have reportedly raised more cash for upcoming House elections than the GOP. In the final three months of 2017, dozens of House Democratic candidates raised more than the GOP incumbents they're running against, according to The Hill.
Only a few Republicans challenging Democratic incumbents can say the same.
"Those numbers should be concerning for all Republicans," GOP consultant Mike DuHaime told Politico.
"This is going to be the most challenging political environment since 2006, so you have to be ready. And lot of these members came in after 2006, so for many, this will be the most challenging environment they've ever run in. And that's going to prove difficult."
Former Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., also the former head of the National Republican Congressional Committee, told the Hill: "Where parties tend to lose the House aren't the swing seats that swing their way," and that "you have those R+5, R+7 districts where Republicans are not wide awake, and then those seats slip away."
