Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., said in an appearance on Newsmax TV's "John Bachman Now" on Friday that ending the Trump administration’s “remain in Mexico” policy shows that President Joe Biden “is not sincere” about preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
The congressman said that he and his fellow legislators have “sent a letter to Gov. [Doug] Ducey and to Sheriff [Leon] Wilmot from Yuma County and ask them to put into a plan to intercept, incarcerate and sent back to the country of origin these individuals being released.”
Gosar went on to say that “the 10th Amendment is being overrun, and there’s huge complications. We saw Texas starting to balk, now it's time for Arizona to start to balk.”
The congressman added, “It shows you that the Biden administration is not sincere in regards to its COVID stance. Now, these people are coming over, we have no way of testing, making sure that their backgrounds are what they say they are, and that's why catch and release is so problematic, is that over 90%-99% don't even come back for their record hearing.”
He concluded, “So, it's sad, but it shows the disdain that my administration has for the American people and the safety and efficacy of COVID pandemic intervention.”
