Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., argues the FBI’s investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn based on his communications with the Russian ambassador violated the Constitution.
In an interview on Sinclair Broadcasting’s “America This Week,” Paul defended his amendment to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act reauthorization bill to bar the FISA court from authorizing surveillance on an American citizen. It was rejected.
"I think it's wrong what they did to the Trump campaign," Paul told Bolling. "So I offered an amendment and my amendment would simply say this: that this foreign surveillance court can't be used on Americans."
Paul argued the whole process of the FBI probe was a violation of the Fourth Amendment, which protects Americans against warrantless search and seizure.
"This is a real problem," Paul said. "You can't allow Americans to be investigated by a secret court where you don't get an attorney you don't get due process."
