Thanks to the Biden administration, the situation at the U.S. border has never been worse, Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Texas told Newsmax's "Carl Higbie FRONTLINE" on Wednesday.
"I just was on the border a couple weeks ago and get this: In the Del Rio section three weeks ago, the cartels used surge tactics, which is, Hey, you 4,000 migrants; you're gonna cross the border here. Every single Border Patrol agent in the Del Rio Sector was processing those folks that crossed the border illegally."
The representative from Texas went on to describe the diversion tactic used by the cartels so that they can "smuggle your narcotics and whatever else you want to." He elaborated that the mass influx of migrants in a single location ensures there were no border agents for hundreds of miles for the rest of the southern border.
"Mexican drug cartels — make no mistakes about it — are in control of our southern border, not the federal government."
Fallon went on to describe the situation at the boarder as a "border cataclysm" and expressed concerns about the people crossing the southern border over the past three years of the Biden administration: "A couple years ago, we have 323 Chinese nationals cross the southern border; this past fiscal year, 24,000. And 174 different countries have crossed the border in the last few years."
