Long considered the most liberal court in America, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is far closer to be fair and balanced than ever, Politico reported.
When President Donald Trump took office in January 2017, Democrat-appointed judges held a 20-9 edge in the 9th Circuit, which made it a go-to court for Democrat challenges with a jurisdiction of 60 million Americans.
After the two most recent Trump confirmations this month, the Democrat-advantage is down to just three 16-13, according to the report.
President Trump had called the 9th Circuit, "a complete and total disaster" and a "big thorn in our side.
"Republicans politicize the judiciary so they can accomplish policy goals that they wouldn't be able to do through the democratically elected branches of government," Chris Kang of Demand Justice, a liberal activist group, told Politico.
It has been the court liberal activists have used to resist and obstruct the Trump administration on healthcare, contraception, abortion, immigration, the travel ban, and various other parts of the progressive agenda.
"The 9th Circuit is a very important circuit, and the presence of more conservative judges puts in peril all of American healthcare reform," Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., lamented to Politico.
The 1st Circuit in Boston and 3rd Circuit in Philadelphia have flipped to Republican majorities under President Trump, per the report.
"Forum shopping will be less attractive now that you have a basically balanced bench as far as Republican or Democratic nominees," Katie Glenn, government affairs counsel for Americans United for Life, told Politico.
