According to a new book, Newt Gingrich penned a secret memo in the middle of 2016 aimed at jumpstarting the languishing agenda of President Donald Trump, the Washington Examiner reported.
Titled "Breaking out of the gridlock," the memo was Gingrich's way of helping Trump out of the first-year doldrums brought on by a negative press, Obamacare repeal failure and the Russia investigation, the Examiner reports.
The memo and its contents is part of Howard Kurtz's new book titled "Media Madness," set to be released next week.
"We are being sucked into stupid fights about stupid attacks and being distracted from arousing and organizing the American people on big topics that will change history," Gingrich wrote in the memo, according to Kurtz's book.
Kurtz, media critic for FoxNews.com, also outs mainstream reporters who "openly express their blatant contempt for Trump," the Examiner reports.
