CBS Poll: Biden's Dwindling NH Lead Down to 7 Points

Vice President Joe Biden's lead in the polls for the New Hampshire Democratic primary was cut nearly in half, from13 points to a mere 7 in the latest CBS News/YouGov poll released Sunday.

Biden draws 27% support among likely Democratic primary voters in New Hampshire, leading Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., (20%) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. (18%), according to the CBS News Battleground Tracker poll conducted July 8-18.

Biden's lead was 13% in the May 31-June 12 edition of the poll, while recent polls from CNN (5%) and Saint Anselm College (3%) have Biden's lead even tighter, according to RealClearPolitics.com.

Here are all of the top candidates pulling at least 2% of the vote in the poll:

  1. Biden 27%.
  2. Sen. Sanders 20%.
  3. Sen. Warren 18%.
  4. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., 12%.
  5. South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg 7%.
  6. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, 2%.
  7. Former Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-Texas, 2%.

Among the candidates pulling 1% are: Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn.; ex-Rep. John Delaney, D-Md.; Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.; hedge-fund billionaire Tom Steyer; Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J.; venture capitalist Andrew Yang; ex-Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo.; and Obama administration HUD Secretary Julian Castro.

The poll was conducted among 530 like Democratic primary voters in New Hampshire with a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.
