Navarro: No Regrets For Fauci Slams But 'Felt Bad' For Wild Pitch

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro, after slamming Dr. Anthony Fauci in a non-sanctioned opinion piece earlier this month, said Monday he doesn't have any regrets about anything concerning the infectious disease expert except for his wild pitch to open up the Washington Nationals game last week.

"I felt bad for him, but I always look forward, and we are all part of the team," Navarro said on Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "He actually tells people to wear the mask, and my job is to get them made."

Navarro complained in his USA Today piece that Fauci, the director of the National Institutes of Allergy, has been "wrong about everything." The Trump administration, including President Donald Trump, all distanced themselves from the opinion article and USA Today said the article didn't meet its usual standards on fact-checking.

Meanwhile, Navarro said he'll travel with Trump to North Carolina Monday to visit Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, which manufacturers components of a coronavirus vaccine being developed by Novavax.

"President Trump is shooting for January 2021 to have 3 million doses of vaccine," said Navarro. "This is the only president who really could have got this done and what's going to be effectively half or a third of the time that it usually takes."

However, Navarro rejected the talk that Trump wants to have a vaccine by fall to present as an "October surprise" before the election.

"I think we are all tired of this politicization of the China virus," said Navarro. "Back in February we knew what we could be up against and working day and night on this and the fact that we could get this in January of 2021 instead of January 2022 is testament to a president who is business-oriented and knows how to get things done. Let's not talk about politics when it comes to saving American lives."
