As required by court order, the Justice Department has turned over to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) the names of 101 migrant children under the age of 5 who were separated from illegal immigrant adults at the U.S.-Mexico border.
U.S. District Court Judge Dana Sabraw ordered the Trump administration to release the names by late Saturday and, by Tuesday, outline its plans for unification of those children with the adults. An ACLU spokesperson confirmed the names were received, according to CNN.
There is a hearing Monday on a DOJ extension request on the July 10 deadline, because the DOJ claims it needs more time to conduct DNA tests to match them with their rightful parents.
Judge Sabraw rejected that request, ordering the U.S. to comply by Tuesday "unless there is an articulable reason."
The U.S. has until July 26 to reunite all other minors separated from their parents.
