Vice President Mike Pence on Friday told Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) employees that the agency will not be abolished under the Trump administration, USA Today reported.

"The president sent me here today with a very important message: Under President Donald Trump, we will never abolish ICE… we are with you 100 percent," said Pence. "We will always stand proudly with our brave heroes of ICE and the Border Patrol."

Pence added that "the calls for abolishing ICE are not only outrageous, they are irresponsible."

Democratic Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., and Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., have called for the abolition of ICE.
