Forty-eight percent of Michigan voters back Joe Biden, compared to 39.2% who favor President Donald Trump, according to a new WDIV/Detroit News poll.
Here are how the results of the survey, conducted after the presidential debate, break down:.
- 59.1% of voters over the age of 65 support Biden, compared to 29.2 who back Trump. A September poll showed Biden with a 7.5% lead in the age group.
- 46% of voters between the ages of 50-64 support Biden, while 46% back Trump. The September poll showed Trump with an 51.8% to 42.2% advantage with the same age group.
- 52.4% of voters who call themselves evangelicals support Trump, while 37.2% back Biden.
In the September poll, Biden had led Trump 47% to 42% among Michigan voters.
The latest poll, conducted Sept. 30-Oct. 3, surveyed 600 people in Michigan. The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points.
